CHEMTREAT 652 is a silicone based general purpose antifoam formulated for foam suppression in boilers, cooling towers and effluent plants.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
CHEMTREAT 652 may be used to counteract foaming caused by a process leak contaminating cooling water. An initial dose of 25ppm is recommended to assess effectiveness for subsequent dosing.
CHEMTREAT 652 should be continuously dosed direct to the boiler drum but it may be slug dosed direct to the drum. Where CHEMTREAT 652 has not been previously dosed, exercise extreme caution in dosing, particularly where highly rated low volume boilers are employed. CHEMTREAT 652 should be added in small progressive increments so that no water starvation occurs in the upper sections of tubes.
For other boilers an initial dose rate of 20ppm on boiler volume. Dosage may then be reduced gradually until the optimum level is achieved (normally about 1-5ppm on raw water make up).
Foam can be controlled by slug dosing CHEMTREAT 652 into a turbulent area or by a controlled spray system containing CHEMTREAT 652. An arbitrary initial dosage rate of 25ppm should be employed and then adjusted depending on results.
Avoid eye contact.
If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or poisons information centre. PH 13 11 26. If swallowed do not induce vomiting, give a glass of milk or water and seek medical advice. For eye contact irrigate with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
CHEMTREAT 652 is available in 5, and 15 litre drums.
